Long lazy weekend

After being jolted back into the work week it occured to me today that it is now September, the month of our anniversary (Sept. 7). I’m amazed that it’s actually been a year since our wedding. Our labour day weekend was long and relaxing. I even got to sleep in on Monday morning. The weekend has spoiled me, I can’t seem to get up early now.
I don’t have much to say today, so I’ll leave with this interesting thought I found today.
“Empty lives seek substitutes, as do painful lives. And many times with little or no regard as to the consequences to self or others. What they want is all that counts. Disregarding any and all rules (ground rules) for momentary fleeting fixes to make up for the meaninglessness of their lives, or to soothe feelings of boredom, worry, fear, anxieties and guilt. And in this process of de-selfing, they become, as T.S. Eillot so aptly described, “the hollow people”. Or, as I refer to them, the surface people, who flit here, there and everywhere, as erosion sets in. They are as skipping stones across the waters’ surface. But as the energy thrust diminishes, they sink deeper and deeper into their watery graves.” ~Halk Walk
