Tulle Mor

I recieved some bad news tonight. My mom’s cousin in Norway has been diagnosed with lung cancer which has also spread to the brain. They have only just found out and she’s in the hospital now awaiting more information on treatments and other test results. Unfortunately, so far they aren’t giving her much to hope for.
I could probably count the amount of times I have met Tulle Mor on one hand, but I’ve heard about her through stories and conversations all my life. I was very fortunate to have her and her mother (my great aunt) at our wedding last year. I can remember how she sat at our kitchen table on the morning of the wedding, watching as my mom did my hair and easing my nerves with her compliments. She always seemed to radiate with elegence and kindness. I’m very saddened by this, even though I have never been close to her. I feel most terribly for her daughter, Siv, for reasons that are obvious and for which I would rather not think nor talk about now.

This is indeed really terrible news to hear…we can only hope for the best.

I’m sorry to hear that. You might feel better if you try becoming more friendly with her daughter. Sometimes it helps girls in her situation to have someone to talk to they don’t know so well.

That’s a very good idea, Duckling. Siv is 6 months pregnant (girl) so I can only imagine how stressful things are for her now.

Hi Carleen, it`s Siv. Your mum sent me the link to these pages and I thank you for your concern and thoughts. It`s hard to grasp that she will be gone, maybe even before summer, and I appreciate all the people who care. If you want to send an email sometime. Give my best to your family.

Hi Siv! So happy you dropped in! I shall email you soon.
