I hate my job. It’s really that simple. Sometimes I think I’m depressed or angry or need psycho-therapy, but no, I just hate my job. Case in point: I am not getting paid for Memorial Day, a paid holiday. Why? you ask. Apparently there’s this rule, if you don’t work the day before or the day after a holiday, you don’t get paid for that holiday. Well I called in the day after Memorial Day because I got home from NY so late in the day. Mikey runs heavy machinery. Running heavy machinery while tired is not a good thing. I felt I did what was in the best interest for everybody concerned, so of course I get the shaft. Everytime I do something that I think is the right thing, bads things happen to me. Needless to say, I’m dusting off my resume this weekend. I’m sure I’ll take a pay cut wherever I end up, but it just doesn’t matter anymore.

It sounds like you’re better off without them.

Hang in there Mike. It’s really hard when you hate your job. I hope that you can find something more suited to your talents soon. You might send your resume to KKI c/o Joe Blackmon. They do computer consulting–I don’t know what your skills are but they are nice people and are moving home office from Coffeyville to Bartlesville soon. Also, you might try the Examiner-Enterprise to ask about photography, and you might try Jay Webster at Pioneer Productions. Jay won’t have a full-time job for you, but might be able to use you as a photographer on a contract basis maybe. You might also try Pendergraphics–web design, etc. I’ll keep my ears open for you. Best of luck.

I just want to say a great big WELL DONE for sticking it out this long! I know you’ve never really loved your job, yet you’ve faithfully gotton up (when everybody else have gone to bed) and plodded on for, how long - 2 years now? Considering the fact that a person spends most of his/hers time at work, I thinks it’s prettyr darn important to be happy at work - if not, it’s more difficult to be happy at home.

P.S. Beth has some good suggestions there

Boy - the above is a pretty bad case of not so good grammar / spelling. My problem is, I can barely see my own text for proof reading, even with my glasses on
Oh well, you all know what I meant. to say.
