A Blogger I am Not

Ok so I’m probably the worst blogger out there. Not only do I fail to ever blog about much of anything really, but our blog was down for a good portion of September and October and I didn’t even know it until Mitch sent us an email about it.

Well to update our current situation: We are currently working on remodeling the kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom was done once already, but I did a terrible job sanding (i.e. I did no sanding at all) so the wall was still really rough from all the wallpaper gunk that was on it and it looked terrible after we painted. So I got a tip from a friend who said to use joint compound all over the wall to fill in the rough spots - this works like a charm and I’m eternaly grateful to the friends who sent us this. I’m also using the same technique in the kitchen because we have this texured/tiled/grooved wallpaper which we did not want to take down because the walls are made of such flimsy material we were afraid it’d tear the whole wall down (stupid southern construction). Please pity me for the amount of dust I’m going to create after I sand to full rooms of joint compund.

As always the colors we have chosen are sketchy at best, we both like them on the swatch, but after seeing the dried paint on the can, I feel a bit hesitant. Luckily we just got a small can of each this time, so we can try it before making a final decision. Here’s the two swatch colors we chose:
