Although it’s happened a little sooner then we originally planned, Mike and I are overjoyed to announce that we are expecting our first baby. We only just found out a few days ago, in fact, the day after we got back from our trip to New York so this whole week has been a bit like a whirlwind and I think we’re both still a bit dizzy from it all.

Getting back to work happened a little sooner than I was ready for. I came back with a really bad cold that has since turned into a weird sinus infection. Since I’m pregnant I can’t take the strong stuff that I normally do to kick this kind of thing in the ass and I don’t really want to go on antibiotics so soon in the pregnancy. As a result, my voice has gone from sounding like Demi Moore on helium, to a pubescent eighth grade boy, to, in just the last few minutes, something almost totally non-existent except for an occassionally “peep” that sounds a bit like a giggling transvestite. I’ve been lucky so far when it comes to the morning sickness thing, however, I have been suffering from really bad fatigue which is just worsened by this cold since sleeping is somewhat of a problem. It got so bad today that I started to feel faint. I stepped outside and the cool air helped a little and I tried to eat something but I just wasn’t very hungry. As a result, this has truly been the longest, most terrible, horrible, no good, very bad work day I have ever had. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t want to talk to anybody, smile at anybody or even look at anybody but unfortunately I still have a few hours before closing so I’m going to have to whether I like it or not. I just hope my sexy transvestite voice doesn’t scare anyone away.

Our friend, Jason just introduced me to an interesting site at www.tickle.com. I took an ink blot test and below are the results it gave back. It was kinda fun, I’ve always wanted to try one of those.

Your subconscious mind is driven most by Curiosity.
This means you are full of questions about life, people, and the potential of your future. You spend more time than others envisioning the possibilities of your life — things that others are too afraid to consider.

Your curiosity burns with an almost physical need to know and do more. It’s only through new experiences that you feel a greater understanding of yourself or the world — which ultimately is the greatest way for you to feel satisfied.

It is possible that the underlying reason for your drive towards curiosity is a deeply rooted fear of boredom. That means that you are probably more susceptible than others to feel like you’re falling into a rut when life slows down into a comfortable routine.
You need to make sure you have stimulation in your life — that makes you feel like you’re innovating or being exposed to the ideas and experiences that truly inspire you.
With such a strong orientation towards curiosity, you’re also prone to a rebellious quality that shows up when you feel you are just going through the motions, and are unable to really influence the world around you. But interestingly enough, your drive towards novel experiences also indicates an openness others don’t have, but wish they did.

Unconsciously, your curiosity presses you to learn more, experience more, and get the most out of life.
Though your unconscious mind is driven most strongly by Curiosity, there is much more to who you are at your core.

Oh my! It’s been quite some time since my last post. How many blogs have you visited in which 90% of the posts start out this way? I’ve seen quite a few. Anyway - some updates.

Leaving for New York on Monday morning - so STOKED! I haven’t been home for Christmas in years, so this is a special treat, plus I wasn’t home for all that long the last time I went up (Jamie’s Wedding) so despite the inevitable delay in Chicago, this may actually feel a bit like a vacation.

Much of the reason I have been a bit silent these past months revolves around my returning to Everquest after a long break. Everquest is an Online Roleplaying Game - also known as an MMORPG - Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game - in which you create a character, choosing your race and class and then wander around going on quests and slaying evil critters. Currently I am playing a Halfling Druid - and quite enjoying the race/class combo.

The Home Repairs are, of course, slowing down as my Everquest playing increases, however the kitchen is fairly close to being done - nails need to be completly hammered in, and wood filler needs to be applied and moulding needs to be put up and a bit of painting, but other than that, it’s as near a fully functional kitchen as I can make it.

Oh! My best friend Jamie is getting married (again) - yes - the same Jamie I mentioned above. He’s marrying a girl named Krissy and they have a cutesy website - but I don’t have an address, but maybe if you just kinda wander around the Internet for a bit you could find it. They are both really happy and I am happy for them. I guess this is where I make some lame joke like, “Go Jamie! Second times a charm!”. Of special note - I am the best man for this wedding, which means, I suppose that I have to make a toast or some such nonsense. Too bad i nearly failed my Public Speaking class. Oh well.

I am far too loopy to proceed with any further updates, so I guess you’ll have to wait another 3 months for me to forget a bunch of stuff and remember a few things I forgot to write in this one. Take care all and I hope this Christmas season finds you stingy and penny-pinching (come on! Christmas is all about the department stores anyway - save some cash - take the kids out sledding - and be happy in the presence of your family - that’s what this season is all about. That and Hot Chocolate. With marshmallows. oh yeah….)

Ok, well, I did upload a new Christmas template for our blog that had three little beagle looking puppies sitting inside stockings hanging from the fire place. It was real cute for about two days, then it just looked cheesy so I’ve decided to just post a picture of our pretty fireplace instead.

Classes are finished. Christmas presents are almost all bought. Stress levels have peaked. I’m ready for the holidays. Mike and I are heading up to New York next Monday to spend Christmas with his parents. We’re having a hard time holding in our excitement. They have an indoor hot tub. Let me just say that again. THEY HAVE AN INDOOR HOT TUB! Yeah…sweet.

On a different note, I discovered something interesting today while doing another random google search on Christmas. Apparently, for a reasonable price of $4.95 you can actually call Santa not just once, but four times. Yeah….I’m trying to think of something farcical to say about that but, alas, nothing’s coming to me.
