Liam has discovered his voice and he’s very happy about it. He’s all smiles and girgles. At some point, once I figure out how to do it, I’ll post some podcasts of him talking. We’ve also taken a few more pictures which I’ll be posting to flickr.
I took my comprehensive exam last Friday. It was a four hour, three essay deal, not too bad, nothing like taking the Bar exam or anything but bad enough for someone who has a slight case of test anxiety like me. They said they should hopefully have the results back sometime next week. I feel pretty confident with two of the questions. The last one, I’m not so sure. It had to do with how social networking sites could benifit Information Systems. I did a lot of “educated”guess work in my response and eventually ran out of time so I didn’t get to say as much as I wanted to anyway, which may have been a good thing considering my answer could be all wrong anyway. Mike has been calling me “master” all weekend however, I’m not going to actually feel like I’ve landed this masters degree until I get the results back and know I’ve passed. Thankfully, even if you miss a question, they give you a second chance by allowing you to do an oral for that question first, and if you miss that then they’ll make you take the whole exam over. We’ll see.
I did a random search on Liam’s name yesterday. I came across a really cute article written by a dad who also has a son called Liam and who also seems to have the same problem we have when telling people his name. I’ve never thought of Liam being a rare name but apparently it’s rare enough around here that ever time I tell it to someone they ask me to repeat a few times and then spell it for them. Usually I end up saying “You know, like the actor, Liam Neeson”.
